Michael McGinley, Laboratory Director of St. Croix Sensory, is proud to be part of the international team that developed a newly published paper titled, “Summary and Overview of Odour Regulations Worldwide”.
The journal Atmosphere has published a special issue on Environmental Odour, including this important work.
Eighteen authors from around the globe worked together to gather information about different policies and regulations utilized by governmental agencies to address nuisance odour. This included participants from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The group held over 50 virtual meetings and worked for several years to gather and summarize odour regulations from around the world.
The article provides an overview of policy and regulation in selected European countries (France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, United Kingdom, Spain, The Netherlands, Italy, Belgium), North America (USA and Canada), South America (Chile and Colombia), as well as Oceania (Australia and New Zealand) and Asia (Japan, China).
