Introducing the Nasal Ranger®cannabis cartridge

With the legalization of cannabis gaining momentum around the world, there is a growing need to address the unique challenges associated with the odours associated with cannabis cultivation. However, odour regulations related to the grow industry in North America are largely dependent on location.

While Canada’s government legalized, regulated, and restricted the use of cannabis in 2018, the United States relationship with cannabis continues to be irregular with the majority of decision-making rooted in state and even municipal legislation.

Nuisance odours related to cannabis grow facilities are causing a growing concern in communities in both countries,  and regulators and growers alike are searching for a common vernacular to provide clarity and transparency in odour mitigation efforts.

Growers are invested in long-term, responsible business practices.

Regulators are invested in community engagement and responsive action.

Both parties are invested in being good neighbors.

The Nasal Ranger® Field Olfactometer offers both parties quantifiable odour data as the backbone of these conversations. In response to client needs, St. Croix Sensory developed a specialized carbon cartridge designed for measuring odours associated with cannabis growth and harvest.

The “Type V Cannabis” cartridge contains a specialized mixture of carbon materials which are highly effective at absorbing terpene and sulfur odours and marks the first product St. Croix Sensory has produced specifically for use in the cannabis market.

Cannabis cartridges will be available for purchase in June 2024.

As the cannabis industry continues to evolve, nuisance odors associated with the grow industry will likely meet an increasing amount of attention. St. Croix Sensory remains committed to helping our clients make odor management decisions with confidence as they meet new challenges in their communities.
