St. Croix Sensory President Michael McGinley recently moderated a webinar hosted by the Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA). Held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, “Fundamentals of Odour: What Do I Need to Know?” provided an overview of odour sampling basics, odour modelling and odour assessments. Presenters included Angie Wanger of Trinity Consultants, Anna Bokowa of EOC Environmental Odour Consulting and Raymond Porter of Envirosuite and Porter Odor Science.
The webinar was part of the preliminary program for the upcoming “Odour Management: Embracing Global Perspectives” conference, which will be held in Toronto, Canada May 14th-16th, 2024. Participants had the opportunity to delve into key topics related to odour sampling and evaluation and served as a foundation to help maximize understanding of odour topics that will be discussed at the conference. The webinar also included information on international odour methodologies and standards. The 69 participants were given the opportunity to ask presenters specific odour related questions.
“Every odour conference includes participants that are new to odour science topics. The conference organizing committee wanted to provide an opportunity before the main event for a primer on odour science including sampling, laboratory and ambient testing, and air dispersion modeling.” Mike McGinley
Additional preliminary programming for the A&WMA conference will include a technical tour of the RWDI Wind Tunnel Facility on Monday, May 13th. The conference kicks off on Tuesday, May 14th with the keynote address by Charles McGinley.
St. Croix Sensory is a Gold Sponsor of the conference and looks forward to connecting with conference participants in Toronto this May. Additional information and registration links can be found here.
